The farm got its name from a blue-collar racer. In 1997 Market Demand was claimed by Jim Hernandez at Los Alamitos for $8,000. After being claimed he became a solid stakes winning horse, he triumphed and won the Ocha Setenta Handicap, defeating distance champion, I’ve Been Blessed. Market Demand is now spending his retirement here at the farm.
